Hello Everyone! 

I hope you all stayed inside today during all that rain storm! Boston Avenue was flooded to our front door curb!

Just a few class announcements at this time:

Thursday February 2nd, is our Ellisimo & Gold make-up class from last month. Starts @ 6:00pm. We will use our floor model machine for this class. So just bring a notebook and paper!

Monday, Feb. 6th is our evening (6:00pm) Anita Goodesigns Fait Quilt Class. The daytime one is Feb. 22nd, at 10:30am

Don't forget about the Quilt Show coming up the weekend of Feb. 10th and 11th.

Nancy Zieman TV Play Day is on Valentines Day. And this month is using the Evolution Serger! If you want to come play that day, we will be teaching for FREE how to make your own applique using just your embroidery machines!

FREE Play Day, the 2^nd Tuesday of the month. It is our Nancy Zieman TV day! For those that want to follow along and do her project, we will do that first. For those that just want to come & sew, quilt, embroider or serge with others, come on! We set this whole day aside for just that! And it’s FREE! And it doesn’t matter which brand of machine you own!

    Since Sam has his college degree in MUSIC, we will be attending the Sewing Dealers Trade Show in New Orleans at the end of the month. Store will be open then.

    We are talking with new teachers for 2012 at this time. If you would like to teach, or if you have a class that you are interested in, give us a shout or an email about it, and we will try to get it done.

    Beginning in March, we will start our PROJECT Classes. If you purchase the CD that we use in class, the class is FREE. If you do not have the CD, you may attend for $30, but you will not have designs when one project is done.

 Did you know that We Offer Free Guide Classes on any Baby Lock machine purchased from us! These classes also include SOFTWARE purchased from us. Periodically, throughout the year, we bring in Baby lock Educators to teach for us. These classes are not Free but are always worth the Fee. Most Project classes include a fee and sometimes a kit fee.

Coming in March of 2012... All Guide Classes will now be "project based" instead of demo/lecture type. This will allow us to teach several different machine owners at one time. We will be sending out more details soon.

ABOUT OUR TECHNICAL SERVICE DEPARTMENT

Sam and I are both Certified Techs. What does that mean to you? That means we have completed Full Training on the Machines we sell. Sam still works for Total Petrochemicals, so he comes to the shop in the evenings to service machines. I try to do a quick once over on machines during the day and assess the problems, and then actually service them in the evenings also.  We do NOT have a FULL TIME Tech on staff. What does that mean? That means we do not have a tech in the store all day only working on machines! Yes, I am there everyday, but I do not spend all day in the tech room. So that means, that yes, it may take a few days or even a week to have your machine repaired, depending on how many are in for repair and if parts have to be ordered. Since, the move to Boston Ave., we have been swamped with machines needing repairs. Most of them being Brother Machines. So we have made a decision… we will not Service Brother Machines any more. As long as there is a Brother Dealer in town, you will have to take your machines to them or to any other Brother Service Center.  I am sorry. Contact Brother International with your concerns or complaints about service done on your machines, not me, please!  Our Goal is Happy Machine Owners… satisfied with their purchase, and their “after the sale” classes and service! I have always had that Goal, even before Cancer when we sold both brands! My hands are tied while there is a Brother Dealer in town.  

As a side note, Sam and I do not work on machines on Wednesday Evening or on Sundays!
