I hope this email finds you and all your loved ones safe from the COVID-19 virus.
My family is all good so far, and hoping this will all be over soon. I know it is difficult for everyone!
I am following the “Stay at Home” order as much as possible, and really enjoying this time with the family and grandkids that live out here on the farm with us. Since re-opening the store doors on April 20th, we have totally run out of machines! We did get a few extra Sergers in for the extension of National Serger Month, and we have 5 Verve machines left. These are sewing/embroidery combination machines. Small but mighty! They have needle up/down and the auto-cutting feature, plus an extension table!
I have a strong faith in God above, and He has gotten me through many trials during the 23 years that I have been in business. I do not live in Fear! I know we will ALL get through this one as well, just like we’ve made it through Hurricanes Rita, Ike, Harvey and Imelda! Just like He got me through Breast Cancer, two Orbital Decompression Eye surgeries, 4 Eye Muscle surgeries, double vision, (who can forget those plastic Wal-mart kids glasses with one eye painted for 4 years!) Amid all this, the move to the Farm and all it’s struggles! And even Rotator Cuff surgery in 2019, plus the other shoulder still needing surgery!
On the Bright side, I’ve also gained two daughter-in-laws, and now have 5 precious Grand kids, since reopening after Breast Cancer! (2009) My husband still loves me (somedays MOST DAYS, I’m not sure why) and we will be celebrating 40 years of marriage in August! Both my parents are still alive, but struggle daily!
With all that being said…
It’s been a great Run but it’s time to call it quits!
I really don’t like the word “quitter”, so let’s just say…
“all good things must come to an end” and leave it at that!
I’m tired! I’ve done my best! And now it’s time to stay home, enjoy my whole family, while I have them! Sit back, relax, teach my grand kids to sew, fish, ride dirt bikes, play sports, make Mayhaw Jelly and maybe even have time to sew, embroider or even quilt some things for myself!
I hope you will all understand this decision and respect it! Many times, I’ve put this job first, in front of God and Family, and have struggled with that way more than any of you will ever know! Now, is the time to get my priorities in order and be a better Wife, Mom, MeMaw, but more importantly, a better Christian! I need to be there to support my husband instead of always the other way around! I need to be able to help my sweet Sister Lisa, and my “mean” older brother Neal (not really mean, he’s the Best!) with the responsibility of taking care of our Wonderful Parents, who in May will celebrate 68 years of marriage!
READ CAREFULLY: I am moving the Baby Lock Store to the Farm, with limited days open and hours of operation! I will continue to support every machine that has been purchased here, with the one year “Dealer Warranty” that we promised you at the time of purchase! I WILL ALSO HONOR FREE GUIDE CLASSES for every machine purchased here. Even those, just purchased in the last couple of weeks! I will maintain my website and email base to keep everyone informed. I am not just abandoning machine owners, I am making a decision based on what is best for me and my family, mentally and financially! I do not want to go through another hurricane or through this COVID-19 stuff again, (in the FALL) where my heart and mind are split between my home and family and worrying about a building/shop that doesn’t even belong to me!
So hopefully, it won’t be too long before Baby Lock will have someone to take my place, and then I can go on road trips, shop hops, retreats and quilting cruises and not have to worry about “the shop”!
Here is the PLAN for getting this store front closed and out of the heart of Nederland and into the countryside of Vidor, Texas.
DO NOT BRING ANY MACHINES IN FOR REPAIRS
WITHOUT CALLING AND CHECKING WITH TAMMY! She will set Appointments!
WE WILL HONOR THOSE 1 YEAR SERVICE/CLEANINGS ONCE WE GET SETTLED AT THE FARM!
I wish you all the best, and I Thank You for 23 years of a fun hobby turned into a very successful business! Just know, all of you made this possible and we’ve ALL had some fun!
Love you all and Happy Sewing,
Tammy Holt, Owner of Sew Much More Sewing Center
